DANNENBERG (1993) conducted a review of the impact of law requiring cycle helmet wearing in children. It was found that passing legislation has more of an effect than educational campaigns alone, and these do not guarantee an increase in health behaviours.

TAPPER ET AL (2003) developed a curriculum focusing on healthy eating called ‘Food Dudes’ and found that it had lasting effects and made children more enthusiastic about school and more confident.

MCVEY AND STAPLETON (2000) conducted research to see the effectiveness of an anti-smoking television advertising campaign. It was found that prolonged campaigns are necessary to have an impact on people’s behaviour and that the TV campaign was effective in reducing smoking prevalence.
